"Sasha! Sasha! Wake up! there's
something in the newspaper about the Canine
Tournament!" said Chloe in a hurried voice.
"What?" asked Sasha still
asleep.
"There's something in the
newspaper about the Canine Tournament," said
Chloe in a normal voice.
"Really?" said Sasha sitting
up. "I want to see," she continued as Chloe
pushed aside the newspaper from her bed to Sasha's.
It took Sasha only a couple of minutes
before saying, "I want to enter!"
"You do?" asked Chloe.
"I do!" answered Sasha.
"Then why don't we go sign
up!" said Chloe.
"You want to do it
too?"
asked Sasha. "Yeah, if your doing it!"
answered Chloe.
*
They went to the sports centre and saw
a really big line up. Every dog in the town was there.
They waited all day to sign up,
meanwhile the line got longer and longer.
They finally made it to the sign up
booth.
"Two to sign up please," said Sasha.
"What are your names?" asked the dog at the
booth.
"I'm Chloe and this is
Sasha," answered Chloe. "Okay girls, what
events would you like to be in?"
"I'd like to be in hurdles,"
answered Sasha.
"Okay," said
the dog at the sign up booth.
"And, I'd like to be in sniffer
dog," said
Chloe.
"Okay, got that. Would you two
like instruction sheets for the events?" asked
the dog at the booth. "Yes please," they
both said as the sheets got handed to them. They then
went home.
The next couple of days they spent
training for the big day. Hours and hours of training
it took, but they didn't have anything to say.
The day then had finally came, the
Annual Canine Tournament was about to begin.
They made their
way down to the Sports Centre and started to warm up.
Many
other dogs were there, some big, some small, but
champions, most of all.
There
was a whole gym where they could warm up. Chloe took
the runner and Sasha took the stretcher.
*
The
first event that too place was the Hurdles. Sasha went
to the starting line confidently.
"Go
Sasha, go Sasha," Chloe whispered to herself in
the audience before the race had even started.
"On
your marks!" said the stater dog. All the dogs
stepped forward. "Get set!" he said as the
dogs went low. "GO!" he yelled and the dogs
flew past.
"The
dogs have had a marvellous start with our remanding
champion, Abby Testos in the lead followed by Tessa
Strut and Sasha Tapscott close behind nearly catching
her as they come to the first hurdle," said the commentator.
Sasha
leaped over the first hurdle and continued on still
catching Tessa.
"Come
on Sasha, come on Sasha," Chloe said in the
audience.
"Sasha
Tapscott is on Tessa's tail and... yes! She has just
passed her on the second hurdle and she looks as if
she's gone on to win this as they get to the second
hurdle," said the commentator.
"Oh,
yeah! Go Sasha! Your the champion!" yelled Chloe
from the audience.
"Sasha
has just court up to Abby Testos but will she be able
to beet her?" said the commentator.
Sasha
pushed herself harder.
"Ladies
and Gentleman, we might have a new champion!"
said the commentator as Sasha was neck and neck after
the seventh hurdle.
"Just
metres away from the finish line with the last hurdle
to go, will she make it?" said the commentator
again.
Sasha
leaped over the last hurdle and went straight to the
finish line.
"Has
she done it? Has Sasha won?" the commentator
paused a moment.
The
judges re-looked at the photo and pointed to Sasha as
the winner.
"She
did it! We have a new champion!" yelled the
commentator. Chloe let out a loud "YES!"
that everyone must've heard.
Sasha
and the other dogs went up to the stage and got their
awards.
Sasha
got a blue one, Abby a red and Tessa a green.
Once
the dogs had gone back to their seats Chloe said to
Sasha, "You won Sasha! You won!"
"I
know! It's so exciting," said Sasha with a smile.
"Want
to get some lunch?" Chloe asked.
"Sure," answered Sasha.
They
went to the Burger
House
and got two giant burgers.
*
The
dogs stated to warm up for Sniffer Dog.
Sasha
watched from the audience as Chloe began to stretch.
"On
Your Marks!" said the starter dog as the dogs
stepped up to the line.
"Get
Set!" he yelled.
"GO!"
he yelled and all of the dogs started sniffing for
their item.
Chloe
sniffed all around as she walked. Her item was a doll.
"Tina
Migam is starting to dig but has found nothing yet.
Chloe Tapscott is doing quite... she's found
something! So has Angel Grouth! Chloe has picked hers
up and is heading toward the finish line. Angel is
following," said the commentator.
Chloe
ran to the finish line with Angel on her tail.
"Quicker
Chloe! Quicker!" yelled Sasha in the audience.
"Chloe
ran over the finish line and got a new record for
finding her item!" said the commentator.
They
all went to the stage and Chloe got the blue ribbon
Angel got the red and another dog named Tom Parker got
the green.
"Great
job Chloe!" said Sasha congratulating her.
"Thanks
Sash," said Chloe.
"Do
you want to stay and watch the rest?" asked
Sasha.
"Actually,
I think I want to got home," answered Chloe
